Everything you need to know about delivery
When you enter your address at checkout we ask the courier what it costs to send that parcel to that postcode, and show you the price, and your share of it, before you pay. There is no standard postage, because there is no standard parcel.
You pay half of the postage and half of ViPicks' service fee, and the seller pays the other half of each. The service fee is ViPicks' only fee: once per seller per order, never a percentage of the item price, GST included. The halves are worked out on the cheapest level; a faster level you choose costs more, and the extra is yours. At checkout, the information icon beside the shipping fee shows the postage, the fee and both halves.
Checkout offers the levels your whole order can actually be sent by. Each one shows the courier carrying it, the price, and an estimate in business days counted from your order: the seller's time to send it plus the courier's time in transit, which the information icon beside it shows separately — so the difference between them is legible instead of three numbers with no stated reason to prefer any. When either part is unknown, no estimate is shown. The cheapest level promises no date — any time beside it is an estimate — and says so.
Sometimes no courier will quote for an address, or the parcel is outside what they carry. Checkout tells you instead of guessing a number, and it will not take your payment until there is a real price to charge.
Some sellers cover delivery on their own listings — you will see it on the item and again at checkout. When they do, they pay all of it: the postage and ViPicks' service fee. It is their offer, so there is no order total that unlocks it across the site.
